Lately, we have been working on the WishIT button. The functionality behind the button is working well, but visually, it is still the same as in the development sketch. It is clear what is does, but it does not look so good. Now it is getting the visual face lift that it already needed for quite a long time. Take a peek at our new WishIt button candidates!
For starters, here is a brief summary about the WishIt button. WishIT button is the button that we would like all web shops to integrate in their shops. It is the button that can be clicked to move an item from a shop's web page to a user's wishlist in WishSimply. So that users can easily keep track of their wishes and share them with families, friends and more.
By adding WishSimply's WishIT button to their web shop, a shop owner will get the best wishlist functionality out there, considering the whole picture. The whole picture consists of two different views: what is the best for the shop and what is the best for the consumers. By combining these aspects, we can compose a service that is best for both parties. The service that is best for consumers will attract more consumers to use it, which in turn makes it much more useful for the web shops too (e.g. compared to a wishlist service that is built in to the web shop platform. (Read more about mutual benefits for shops and consumers or benefits for the companies, or benefits for the individuals).
Once we started to revamp the WishIT button, we took a look at what big names (Facebook, Twitter, Googleplus and Pinterest) have be doing in this area. What kinds of buttons are they offering? We found out that their button sizes vary between 20 to 28 pixels in height and between 32 to 79 pixels in width. So if we made our button size somewhere between those measurements, we should be in good company, as buttons of those sizes are used everywhere.
We decided to go with the larger button size, which we think is the future. That button has a height of 28 pixels and a width of whatever is needed to accommodate the content in our different options. However, the width of every option that we have is less than 79 pixels, so all is good.
I think that all of our button options will fit nicely in the same league with all those buttons from big players. Our new buttons are graphically clear; they have a big font, simple design, easy-to-see logo, and a distinct, nice fresh color.
After some pre-filtering, we have four button models left for the last round. All the new model options are shown on the right-hand side of the image, and the old model can be seen to the left of the arrows.
Which one is best? Let us know what you like! We are going to decide on the final button model in a week or two. (We are also going to update our favicon to match the new WishSimply button).
PS. If you know a shop that would be interested in integrating our button in their shop, let them or us know. Thanks!
