Spring is coming, and so is the birthday season. We have been fine-tuning our offering for that from Christmas until now. Today, we have released a new version of our service. There are a few nice new features specifically aimed to support you with birthday parties and invitations.
Improved birthday invitation emails
Invitations have been improved so that we give more control to users. Now you can fully customize the subject of the invitation email in addition to the body text. At the same time, we have changed how invitation emails are presented to the invitees. Previously, the sender was shown as "Wishlist info", but now it shows as " by WishSimply". We have also added a bit of intelligence in the content, and now the 'RSVP' option is only available if you have filled in the event details in the service.
Directions to birthday event location
We have added a small directions icon in front of the event address (in case the event location field is filled in). When an invitee clicks the icon, it will open a pop-up that shows the invitee's own address (in case they have filled it in in the service) and the address specified for the event, and let them open up a map with directions for getting to the event. We have Google Maps and OpenStreetMap available. When you fill in event details, remember to check the address so that your guests don't go to the wrong place!
Improved WishList ordering
The order of wishlists has been changed so that the wishlist that has the fewest days to the event day is at the top of the list. If you hover the mouse pointer over a wishlist, you will see the number of days to the event at the bottom right corner of the wishlist image.
Other stuff
In addition to the changes mentioned above, some minor bugs have been fixed and some other stuff has been improved. For example, public lists will now scale nicely also in mobile devices.
